Here is a list of a few of my favorite essential oils and their wonderful properties.

Cedarwood
- Excellent for the lymphatic system – decongests the lymph
- Good for respiratory system and lung damage – bronchitis, catarrh
- Genitourinary tract – cystitis
- Excellent for the skin – eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis
- Powerful but slow acting, stays with people
- Antiseptic
Citronella
- Highly antiseptic
- Deodorant
- Excellent insect repellant
- Helpful for headaches and migraines
- Stimulating for the whole body and mind
- Balancing for the nervous system
- Can be effective for rheumatic pains and Aching muscles
Clary Sage
- Dysmenorrhoea – chronic and extreme pain
- Menopause
- Can be helpful for people trying to come off drugs or alcohol
- Soothes digestive problems
- Tonic to the kidneys
- Useful for convalescence
- Migraines and headaches – calms tension
Clove Leaf
- Helps ease toothache and mouth sores
- Digestive system – nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia, bad breath and parasites
- Good for intestinal disorders and is a tonic to the kidneys and spleen
- Can help with rheumatism and arthritis
- Headaches
- Respiratory problems – bronchitis, asthma
- Insect repellent
- Skin sores, leg ulcers and infectious wounds
Eucalyptus
- Respiratory conditions which involve mucousy discharge, eg. bronchitis, flu
- For acute and short term conditions rather than long and chronic as it is too drying for the kids for long term use
- Anti-spasmodic and sedative – a chest condition with a cough
- Active antiseptic properties, can rank as a natural antibiotic
- Diuretic – urinary and intestinal conditions
- Some cases of vaginal discharge – infectious, with blood
- Hemorrhoids
- Fever – particularly intermittent, eg. malaria
- Flat nervous system or anemia
Lavender
- Highly antiseptic
- Antispasmodic
- Diuretic
- Sudorific
- Tonic for the heart – calm palpitations caused by stress
- Wounds and sores, burns
- Sinusitis
- Eczema
- Cholagogue, choleretic
- Disinfectant
- Influenza, bronchitis, tuberculosis, pneumonia
- Migraine, vertigo
- Intestinal spasm
- Hypertension – high blood pressure
- Lice, scabies
- Alopecia
- Emmenagogue
- Relaxes the nervous system
Spearmint
- antiseptic
- antispasmodic

Orange
- Calming digestive properties
- Mild laxative – excellent for constipation
- Relaxing
- Can help with colds and sore throats
- Good for dry skin, dermatitis, and winkles
- Overall skin tonic
Patchouli
- Good for dermatitis, eczema, and dry skin conditions
- Can help with weight reduction
- Diuretic – helpful for water retention and cellulite
- Said to relieve effects of snake and insect bites
Tea Tree
- Highly anti-fungal
- Perfect as an antiseptic
- Cystitis
- Athletes Foot, tinea and warts
- Lung congestion – has an expectorant quality
- Sudorific
- Sunburn – less aggressive than lavender on the skin
